ClearPoint includes several default number formats, and administrators can also define custom formats to meet specific reporting or presentation requirements.
Creating a Custom Number Format
From the top navigation, click Settings.
Click Customizations.
Navigate to the Number Formats tab.
Click the Add ( + ) button to create a new number format.
Configure the Custom Number Format
Enter a Number Format Name (e.g., 4 Decimal Currency).
Enter a Currency Symbol or unit prefix/suffix (e.g.,
$,%, or another symbol used by your measure).Select the number of Decimal Places (0–8).
Define the Currency Position relative to the number.
Choose how negative values are displayed using the Negative Symbol Position setting.
Select Separator and Decimal symbols (e.g., “No separator, period decimal” →
100000.00).(Optional) Check Negative Values in Red to highlight negative values in reports and tables.
Review the Preview field.
Click Save.
Applying a Custom Number Format to a Series
In ClearPoint Next, series configuration is managed through the Series tab in the right-hand edit drawer.
Click Elements from the left navigation.
Navigate to the Measures tab.
Click the kebab menu (⋮) and select Edit Measure.
Go to the Series tab.
Click the kebab menu (⋮) next to the desired series and select Edit Series.
In Series Details, change the Data Type dropdown to Custom.
Select the custom number format from the Custom Format dropdown.
Click Save.
