Series represent data columns in your Measure’s data table. Each series stores quantitative information—such as actuals, targets, or year-to-date values—that can be used for calculations, evaluations, and charts.

Adding a Series

Add a Series from the Measure Detail Page

  1. From the left navigation, click Elements.

  2. Select Measures.

  1. Open the Measure you want to edit.

  2. Click the kebab menu (⋮) and select Edit Element.

  1. Navigate to the Series tab in the right-hand drawer.

  2. Click + Add Series.

  3. Enter a Series Name (e.g., Revenue).

  4. Choose a Data Type (e.g., Currency).

  5. Click Save.

💡 Each Measure can include multiple Series—such as Actual, Target, Forecast, or YTD—depending on how you want to track performance.

Add Multiple Series at Once

  1. From the Series tab, click + Add Series

  2. Mark Add Multiple.

  3. In the text box, enter each series name separated by commas (e.g., Actual, Target, Forecast).

  4. Choose a Data Type (e.g., Percentage).

  5. Click Save.

💡 Bulk adding is ideal when creating new Measures or establishing a consistent data structure across multiple scorecards.

Editing a Series

Locate the Measure you want to edit.

  1. Click the kebab menu (⋮) and select Edit Element.

  2. Navigate to the Series tab.

  1. Click the kebab menu (⋮) next to the series name and select Edit.

  2. Update any of the following:

    • Series Name

    • Data Type

    • Calculation (using formulas, tokens, and functions)

    • Evaluation settings

    • Hide or Lock options

    • Tags for organization

  3. Click Save.

💡 Each Series includes three configuration tabs — Series Details, Calculation, and Evaluation — for complete control over data behavior.

Reordering Series

  1. Navigate to the Series tab.

  2. Drag and drop Series to reorder them.

💡 Reordering affects how Series appear in the Data Table, as well as their order in charts and summary reports.

Hiding a Series

  1. From the Series tab, open the Series you want to modify.

  2. Check one or both options:

    • Hide series in reports.

    • Hide series in reports and data tables.

  3. Click Save.

💡 Hidden Series remain active for calculations and evaluations but do not display in charts or summary reports.

Locking a Series

Locking a Series prevents updaters from editing its data values.

  1. From the Series tab, open the Series you want to modify.

  2. Check Lock series for updaters.

  3. Click Save.

💡 Locking Series helps maintain data integrity by preventing unauthorized changes.

Changing the Number Format

  1. From the Series tab, open the Series you want to modify.

  2. Choose a Series Data Type:

    • Currency – Select from supported currencies (e.g., USD, EUR, GBP).

    • Number – Standard numeric format (e.g., 100.00).

    • Percentage – Displays values as percentages (e.g., 95.00%).

    • Accounting – Formats negative values in parentheses (e.g., (100.00)).

    • Integer – Displays whole numbers only.

    • Custom – Apply a custom format created in System Setup > Admin Options.

  3. Click Save.

💡 Custom number formats allow you to define decimal places, symbols, and separators to match your reporting standards.

Deleting a Series

  1. Click the kebab menu (⋮) next to the series name and select Delete Series.

  2. Confirm by clicking Delete.

⚠️ Deleting a Series permanently removes it from the Measure and any charts or reports using it.
