Exports & Share information - Manage Briefing Book templates

This article explains how to manage Briefing Book templates in ClearPoint.

Briefing Books make generating polished, consistent reports fast and easy. From the Templates & Documents Hub, you can add recipients, duplicate templates, schedule automated generation, and download completed reports.


Adding Recipients to a Briefing Book

Recipients receive a notification when a new Briefing Book has been generated. Only ClearPoint users can be added as recipients.

  1. From the left-hand navigation, select Documents.

  2. Click the Templates tab.

  3. Open Briefing Books.

  4. Click the kebab menu (⋮) next to the template and select Edit Template.

  5. Navigate to the Recipients tab.

  6. Select the users who should receive notifications.

  7. Click Save.

💡 Optionally, you can click on Select All to include all users at once.


Duplicating a Briefing Book Template

Duplicating a template is a quick way to create a new Briefing Book without starting from scratch.

  1. Go to DocumentsTemplatesBriefing Books.

  2. Click the kebab menu (⋮) next to the template.

  3. Select Duplicate Template.

  4. Enter a New Template Name.

  5. Click Duplicate.

💡 Your duplicated template will appear in the template list.


Generating a Briefing Book

  1. Go to DocumentsTemplatesBriefing Books.

  2. Click the Generate (▶) icon for the template.

  3. Select a Reporting Period.

  4. Optionally check Include Recipients, then choose which users to notify.

  5. Click Confirm.

💡 You will be notified when the Briefing Book is ready.


Report Generation Percent Complete

You can monitor how far along the Briefing Book export is in the generation process.

  1. Go to DocumentsTemplatesBriefing Books.

  2. View the percent complete indicator.

💡 This helps estimate how much longer the export may take.


Scheduling Automatic Report Generation

Schedules allow Briefing Books to regenerate automatically—ensuring leadership always receives the latest information on time.

  1. From the left navigation, select Automation.

  2. Click Schedules.

  3. Select Add Schedule (+).

  4. Enter a Schedule Name (e.g., “Monthly Briefing Book”).

  5. Under Scheduled Task, choose Generate Briefing Book.

  6. Select the Briefing Book from the dropdown list.

  7. Set the First Run Date and Run Time.

  8. Click Save.

The schedule will now appear under Manage Schedules.

💡 Tip: Using these same steps, you can also create a schedule for Recalculate Account.


Downloading a Briefing Book

Generated Briefing Books can be downloaded multiple ways.

Download from Documents

  1. Go to DocumentsGenerated Documents.

  2. Click the kebab menu (⋮).

  3. Click Download.

💡 A toaster notification also appears as soon as the report finishes generating.

Additionally, ClearPoint emails you a copy of the completed Briefing Book.
