Updates are made in WordPress, not automatically from ClearPoint, so you can review and approve all changes before publishing them publicly.

When to Update a Community Dashboard

Update your dashboard whenever:

  • You want to refresh the information currently displayed for the same reporting period, or

  • You need to update the site to show a new reporting period.

Community Dashboard updates work by clearing cached API calls so WordPress can pull the most recent data from ClearPoint.

⚠️ Important: Clearing the cache may temporarily slow page load times for the first visitor after each update.
To avoid this, click through affected pages yourself immediately after clearing the cache.

πŸ“Œ What Can and Cannot Be Updated With This Process

βœ… These instructions can be used to update:

  • Text fields displayed on the dashboard (Analysis, Description, etc.)

  • Number formats and data values

  • Element names

  • Chart data or chart design

  • Status indicator colors, icons, and names

❌ These instructions cannot update:

  • Elements added or deleted in ClearPoint

    • These must be manually adjusted in WordPress; contact ClearPoint Support for assistance.

  • Placement or layout of dashboard elements

  • Some text formatting changes (depends on context)

πŸ” Logging Into WordPress

Your WordPress login is separate from your ClearPoint login.
ClearPoint Support will provide your WordPress credentials.
If you need assistance, contact [email protected].

How to log in:

  1. In your browser, go to:
    https://yourcityhere.clearpointstrategy.com/wp-login.php

  2. Enter your WordPress username and password.

  3. Click Log In.

πŸ”— Connect to Your ClearPoint Data

  1. In the WordPress admin sidebar, click ClearPoint.

  2. Your ClearPoint account name should appear.

    • If it does not, your API key may be invalid or expired.

    • Follow the instructions here to reconnect your dashboard to ClearPoint with a new API key.

πŸ“† Updating Your Dashboard for a New Reporting Period

If you want to update the dashboard to display a different reporting period, follow these steps first:

  1. In the ClearPoint section of WordPress, locate Display Settings.

  2. Select your new Reporting Period from the dropdown.

  3. Click Update.

🧹 Refreshing Data (Clear the Cache)

Whether you are updating the dashboard for the same period or switching to a new one, you must refresh the data:

  1. Click Clear Cache.

  2. The count next to Cached API Calls should return to 0, confirming that all cached content has been cleared.

Your Community Dashboard will now show the most recent information from ClearPoint.
