Branding ClearPoint with Account Colors

This article explains how to configure Account Colors and how those colors are applied across ClearPoint.

ClearPoint allows you to apply your organization’s branding consistently across the application using Account Colors. Account Colors replace the legacy Custom Styles functionality and provide a simplified, centralized way to manage how navigation, cards, charts, diagrams, templates, and reports appear throughout your account.


Configuring Account Colors

Admins can manage Account Colors in the Settings panel.

  1. From the top navigation, click Settings.

  2. Choose Account Defaults.

  1. Select Account Colors from the Settings list.

  2. Choose:

    • Primary Color

    • Secondary Color

    • Five Accent Colors

💡 Primary and secondary colors apply across the main interface, while accent colors can be used on cards, charts, templates, and other visual elements.


Where Account Colors Are Used

Navigation

Primary and secondary colors appear in:

  • The left navigation panel

  • Navigation highlights

  • Key UI accents

💡 This ensures your organization’s branding extends into everyday navigation.


Cards on Detail Pages, Workspaces, and Scorecard Layout Reports

Cards (formerly pods) support applying accent colors, allowing you to visually group content or highlight specific information.

To apply a color to a card:

  1. Click on Elements from the left navigation.

  2. Go to Measures.

  3. Click on the Measure you want to work with (e.g., Expenses)

  1. Click on the kebab menu (⋮) and select Edit Layout.

  1. Click on the kebab menu (⋮) on any card.

  2. Select Edit Card Visual Settings.

  1. Choose an accent color from the account palette.

  2. Click Confirm.


Charts

Accent colors can be applied directly to chart series to support consistent visual branding.

  1. Click on Elements from the left navigation.

  2. Go to Measures.

  3. Click on the Measure you want to work with (e.g., Expenses)

  1. Double click on the Chart.

  2. Navigate to the Series tab, select an accent color for each series.

  3. Save changes.


Reports

Accent colors appear in:

  • Chart visuals within dashboard reports

  • Cards within Scorecard Layout Reports

  • Headers and footers when using templates

  • Exported content (PDF and HTML)

  1. Click on Reports from the left navigation.

  2. Navigate to the Measures tab.

  3. Locate the detail page, workspace, or scorecard layout (e.g., Summary Reports)

    • Click the kebab menu (⋮) and select Edit Measure.

  4. Navigate to the Report tab.

  5. Choose an Accent Color or Default.

    • Set the Background Transparency.

  6. Click Save.

💡 Cards using accent colors will retain those colors in exports and templates.


Best Practices for Branding Your Account

  • Use Primary and Secondary colors for your brand’s main identity.

  • Apply accent colors consistently within layout designs:

    • One accent color for analysis cards

    • Another for update fields

    • Another for performance visualization

  • Use accent colors on key charts to improve readability across scorecards and dashboards.

  • Review exported templates regularly to ensure branding alignment.
