Tags in ClearPoint are flexible labels that help you group, organize, and identify related elements across your account.
They make it easier to filter reports, send reminders, make bulk updates, and visually align cross-departmental initiatives.

What Are Tags?

Tags are customizable labels that can be assigned to almost any element in ClearPoint—such as Scorecards, Objectives, Measures, Initiatives, Milestones, Action Items, Risks, Series, and Charts.

Each tag includes a name and color, giving you a quick visual cue when browsing reports or element lists.

Tags function similarly to picklist fields, but offer greater flexibility, allowing you to:

  • Group elements across multiple scorecards

  • Filter reports by tag for faster insights

  • Identify related items during updates or review cycles

  • Apply tags in bulk or individually

Why Tagging Matters

Tagging keeps your reporting data organized and easy to navigate.

With tags, you can:

  • Quickly identify key strategic elements (e.g., Customer-Facing, High Priority, Sustainability Goals)

  • Run filtered reports for specific groups of elements

  • Apply mass updates using the Bulk Changes feature

  • Align data across departments by tagging related projects or objectives

  • Automate reminders and workflows for tagged items

💡 Tags create structure across your strategy and reporting framework, improving visibility and collaboration.

How Tagging Works

Administrators can create and manage tags in System Setup, defining tag names and colors.
Tags can then be applied individually from an element’s Detail Page or in bulk using Manage Elements or Bulk Changes.

Creating a Tag

  1. From the top navigation, click Settings.

  2. Select Customizations.

  1. Navigate to the Tags tab.

  2. Click + Add Tag.

  3. Enter a Tag Name (e.g., Customer Satisfaction).

  4. Choose a Tag Color using the color picker or by entering a hex code.

  5. Click Confirm.

💡 Choose distinct colors for major categories or departments to make tags instantly recognizable.

Applying a Tag to an Element

You can assign tags directly from any element’s Detail Page.

  1. From the left navigation, open Elements.

  2. Select the element type (e.g., Measures).

  3. Open the element you want to tag (e.g., Total amount of time at gate).

  4. Click the kebab menu (⋮) and select Edit Element.

  1. Under the Edit Fields section, locate the Tags dropdown.

  2. Select one or more tags to apply.

  3. Click Save.

💡 Tags appear directly on the element’s header and in any report or filter where tags are enabled.
