Getting Around – Comments & Mentions

This guide walks through how to use comments and mentions across Element Detail Pages, Summary and Reports.

The Discussion tab in ClearPoint makes it easy to communicate and collaborate directly within your pages. Use it to post comments, tag teammates with @mentions, add emoji reactions, reply to threads, or resolve discussions once decisions are made.


Navigating to the Discussion Tab

  1. Click the Chat Bubble icon 💬 on any Element Detail page, Summary Report, or Goal page.

  2. The Discussion tab opens in the right-hand drawer.


Using @mentions

You can mention other users in a comment to send them a notification.

  1. Click into the Discussion text area.

  2. Type @ to open a list of users.

  3. Select the teammate you want to mention.

  4. Click the Send icon to post your comment.


Replying to a Discussion Thread

  1. Click in the Reply text box under a comment.

  2. Type your message.

  3. Click Send to post your reply.


Reacting to a Message with Emojis

  1. Click the Add Reaction (😊) icon under any comment.

  2. Select an emoji to react.

  3. Click the same emoji again to remove your reaction.


Editing a Comment

  1. Click the kebab menu (⋮) next to your comment.

  2. Select Edit Comment.

  3. Make your changes.

  4. Click the Check icon to save.


Deleting a Comment

  1. Click the kebab menu (⋮) next to your comment.

  2. Select Delete Comment.

  3. Confirm by clicking Delete.


Resolving a Discussion Thread

When a conversation is complete, you can mark the thread as resolved.

  1. Click the Resolve icon on the thread header.

  2. To view past discussions, check Show Resolved at the top of the tab.

  3. To reopen a thread, click Unresolve Thread.
